About Q’mmunity House
The LGBTQ+ Transitional Housing program is an initiative dedicated to providing safe, affirming, and supportive housing for LGBTQ+ veterans and family members in King County. This program works to address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ veterans who often experience higher rates of homelessness, discrimination, and barriers to accessing critical resources. By offering stable housing and tailored support services, we aim to empower veterans on their journey toward self-sufficiency and healing.
We believe that every veteran deserves a place to call home, where they can live authentically and be supported in their personal growth. Our transitional housing program is more than just a temporary housing—it’s a community that fosters connection, dignity, and hope. Through this initiative, we seek to create a model of care that centers the needs of LGBTQ+ veterans, ensuring they have the resources and environment necessary to thrive.

Things Applicants Should Consider...
Q’mmunity House is a program first and foremost.
We ask that applicants come to the program ready to lean into growth and to do the work to foster the healing necessary to heal, regain stability, and become self-sustaining with the Minority Vets staff supporting you in your journey.
Q’mmunity House is funded by the King County Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy and was designed to serve veterans who reside in, or are in some way connected to, King County, Washington (e.g., most recently resided, receives mail, and/or receives housing services in King County; others on a case-by-case basis). Due to limited resources to review a heavy volume of applications, applicants without a connection to King County will be declined.
Submitting an application does not guarantee program placement or an interview. We encourage all veterans who apply to continue their work toward finding housing opportunities, as we anticipate a high number of applicants and that we will maintain an often long waitlist.
Q’mmunity House is not a treatment facility and staff are not equipped to provide mental or physical health services. Applicants are encouraged to share their care needs, where possible, to ensure the alignment of needs and support our staff are able to provide. Additionally, Q’mmunity House is a dry home.
